Louis Brooks and his Hi-Toppers had an R&B hit in 1955 with “It’s Love Baby (24 Hours a Day) on the Excello label. Even though four years had elapsed without another big hit, Excello was still recording the group in 1959. This record, Excello 2159, “Bus Station Blues” b/w “Rollin’ Home,” was issued in June 1959. After this record Excello must have given up on Louis.
